Scott “Free” DeVore

My name is Scott DeVore, or Free by my day-1’s, and I’m excited to share my story with you. Growing up in the projects outside of the DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia) was tough, but it taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. As the only half Vietnamese kid on the streets (other than my siblings), I faced my fair share of challenges but found my passion in music.

Rap music and DJing became my escape and I quickly built a career as a DJ under the handle “Scott Free”. Alongside my passion for music, I also had a love for basketball and spent a lot of time on the court.

However, DJing wasn’t my only entrepreneurial start. I started a Network Marketing company which helped me develop my leadership skills, personal development, and entrepreneurial mindset. After completing college, I decided to retire from DJing and entered the corporate world.

My journey began at a construction and engineering firm where I worked in project controls on billion-dollar deals. I grew into my career, working in sectors like construction management, aerospace, and healthcare. After 15 years in the corporate world, earning multiple business degrees including my MBA and other professional certifications, I found my true calling in entrepreneurship and consulting.

I moved to Jacksonville, Florida, earned my General Contracting license, and found the value in earning my roofing license and real estate and business broker licenses. This was the start of DeVore Capital Contracting Consulting Inc., a multi-million dollar start-up offering a variety of contracting services.

I’m thrilled to say that this is only the beginning and the future looks bright. I am excited to continue providing value to everyone through my consulting services and help others achieve their entrepreneurial dreams.
